| Originally from colder climates, the Muskox was introduced here as a pack animal and beasts of burden by the locals when the once-hot lands began to freeze 20 years ago. Muskoxen have distinctive defensive behaviour and when the herd is threatened, the adult Muskox forms a ring around the calves and protects them with brute force. |
