| Originally from colder climates the Muskox was introduced here as a pack animal and beasts of burden by the locals when the once hot lands began to freeze 20 years ago. Muskoxen have a distinctive defensive behaviour and when the herd is threatened, the adult Muskox form a ring around the calves and protect them with brute force. |
