You walk this shadowy Realm of broken rock and bones. The Elves attack you regularly as if trying to protect something. But you find nothing out the ordinary and are about to return to the Chul Scout when you find an ornate door carved into the rock wall. You take a step towards it when a large cat jumps from a hidden perch above. It prowls before you, you draw your sword then blink in astonishment as the animal stops suddenly and opens it's mouth to reveal a keyhole behind it's sharp teeth. It is only then you realize the Cat is in fact carved out of stone. You will need to find a way past this powerful Golem to gain access to the door it guards. |
The elegant copper key is far too small to fit in the large keyhole of the stone cat. You simply throw the key at the Golem and it swallows it in one gulp. It then promptly walks off and curls up next to the stone door and ignores you.
You may now enter the Ornate Door. |

You are shocked by the sudden heat that blasts you as you enter the small chamber. All around you is boiling lava but through the heat shimmer you see a glowing light. |
You walk towards the light and finds a beautifully carved pillar with a huge red crystal at it's top. Your eyes are drawn up to the Crystal, you see light pulsing deep within it. You watch the light of the Crystal pulse gently, then blink as a thin silver ribbon arcs from the lava surface and hits the Crystal. The light within glows slightly brighter.
The realization suddenly strikes you that the Crystal is drinking in some form of essence from the roots of the Realm itself. You wonder why someone would do such a thing, but you know that you must put a stop to it.
You must find a way to destroy the Realmblood Gem. |

Required Kills: None
|
Before you stands an evil magical device drinking unknown essences from the roots of the Realm. You will need to shatter the Realmblood Gem to stop it. |
You walk up and are about to hit the Gem with your weapon, but then figure that whoever made this device would protect it against obvious physical attacks. Judging from the lack of guards, whoever made the Pillar is confident that it cannot be destroyed. You lower your weapon and stare at the intricate magical symbols carved into the pillar.
You marvel at the ingenuity that went into the construction of the evil device. Then remember the Gift that the Siltaron Fae gave you. That will be of old earth magic that predates any newer magics no matter how clever it is. You unpack the Gift of Siltarin and look back at the Bloodgem.
You are not too sure what to do with it so you simply place it onto the surface of the large red crystal. It draws essence from around it so maybe the Gem will try to absorb the Fae magic as well. You wait for a moment when suddenly the Gift in your hand starts to glow. Green ribbons arc from between your fingers and are absorbed into the Bloodgem. The red crystal starts to hum loudly and then vibrate. Before you can do anything the Bloodgem splits in two. You step back hurriedly to see the red haze rise from the crystal chunks. As the mist fades you see the crystal drain of colour and become a solid obsidian rock. You note the golden Elven Script flowing over the dead black rock and guess you should leave. You doubt the Dark Elves would appreciate you destroying their powerful magical artifact.
You then remember that you are still holding the Gift of Siltarin, you smile as you see the magical symbol glowing with a deep green light.
You should return to the Chul Scout and tell him what you have done.

You return to find the Chul Scout binding his wound, 'Did you figure out why the Lorsillian Elves are here?' |
The Scout listens intently as you describe finding the odd stone Cat and feeding it the copper key to gain access to the Realmblood Chamber. You then tell him of the Bloodgem atop the beautiful pillar that drank silver ribbons of essence from the lava around it. At this he shifts in anxious uncertainty but stays silent waiting for you to finish. The Scouts face floods with relief as you describe the shattering of the Bloodgem from it trying to absorb Fae magic and being reduced to lifeless black rock.
As you tell him the golden Elven Script flowing over the broken Bloodgem his teeth grind. 'So the Elves were protecting this Bloodgem that was draining the Realms essence. What possible use could they gain from doing that? If the Realms die so do they, it makes no sense to hurt the land you live in.' He shrugs, 'Maybe we should ask them. Meet me Lorsil Ruins (Broken Halls) and we shall try to get some answers.' |

Maybe the Lorsil dead will talk to us as the living Elves won't.' He then waves you forward, you get the distinct impression that the Scout has no intention of taking another step deeper into the Haunted Ward. From the spectral forms walking the destroyed city, you can't really blame him.

You quicken your stride and hurriedly enter a small square. In the center, you see the ghostly form of a beautiful elf. She clutches something in her hands. |
You walk up to the spirit and see that her eyes are tightly closed, she hovers slightly above the cold floor. You say, 'Hello.' Her eyes flicker open at the sound of your voice, 'Oh, you are not an Elf. How strange. Other races do not come too...' She frowns, then stares off into the distance. You realize she can't remember the name of her own City. Embarrassed she closes her eyes again, 'I must concentrate or I will disappear completely. I don't know why my people do not do their duty to their dead. No Tribute has been offered in the longest time.' She then falls silent and you see the edges of her skin shimmer.
Offer a Tribute to the Fading Spirit then maybe she will speak to you again. |

You offer the beautiful Spirit the odd Tribute. The Dagger clinks against the Silver plate as you hold it before you. At the delicate 'clink' the Ancestors eyes flash open. She gazes upon the Silver Plate and the objects arranged upon it. 'I see a Platter of time and the Dagger of destiny. The Lorsil must pay their dues to flower as our race was intended.' You sense a mantra to the rhythm of her words. As she speaks her skin solidifies and her eyes flash with intent. You fight the urge to step back at her stern gaze fixes on you.
'My name, I remember my name.' She glares at you, 'My people have forsaken their duty and now a stranger serves as they should.' You are struck by the sudden fear that this powerful Spirit will slay you where you stand. But then she breaths deeply and calms herself, 'I am sorry Warrior, you have done me a great service. Without being remembered our existence fades and we truly die. But the tribute roots us in the thread of destiny and we can continue. I am greatly indebted to you, is there something I might help you with?'
You clear your throat and swallow your choking fear, 'I wanted to ask why the Lorsillian Elves are draining the Life Essences of the Realms. Do you know?' The Spirit looks confused for a moment, 'If the Realms Life essence is drained away then the Realms will die and that will destroy the Lorsil Elves. We are tied to the land by definition. I'm sorry Warrior I do not see the sense in killing the land and ourselves along with it. I feel like I have failed you with my ignorance, when you have served me so well. Your arrangement of the Tribute was flawless as well.' She looks down at her hands and then reaches out to you.
Doom edged with dread flows over you for a second, the you realize she is not reaching for you but offering you something. 'Take this, I shall try to help you as I can.' She then turns and walks into a wall vanishing from sight.
You should return to the Scout and tell him what has happened.

I shall make sure that you are never be remembered...' She then vanishes from sight and the Elf falls to the uncaring stone floor - dead.
The Scout turns to you, his eyes wide with fear, 'Do we know her?' Then you remember the Signet she gave you and say, 'Yes, her name is Trilsaron.' 'Perhaps there will be other ghosts that can help us on this quest, we must find out why they seek to destroy the realm' replies the scout. You ask the scout 'Where should we go next?''

As you are not of the Lorsil people please do not touch the Grave. I will be forced to kill you. Please offer a token of respect or leave.' He then vanishes without a word.

The Scout goggles at Trilsaron, 'I thought you could walk through walls?' The Spirit gives the Chul Scout a withering glare and replies with a measured clipped voice, 'I can, but spell wards were put around the Tower to keep Spirits out.
