You have had enough of hiking through the tundra and are overjoyed when Egil leads you to a village. You find Egil ahead talking with a villager. Egil and the villager turn. The villager speaks. 'Well met Warrior! Welcome to Caruftun Village. We are situated on the western edge of the Bidlect Glacier, which actually splits the village in two.' You thank the villager for the welcome. 'The villager smiles. 'We can offer food and rest but I'm afraid I have to ask if you can perform a few services for the village?' You ask what the village requires. The village smiles and his shoulders slump with relief. 'Warrior, our village has become plagued with birds. In this part of the village we are beset by Hikata. The Hikata are small, white, raven-like birds that nest along the crevice walls. Ordinarily, they are not a problem, but recently there has been an explosion in their numbers. Would you please cull them? There are large numbers of them I'm afraid.' You agree and head into town to start the cull.

You return to Egil and the villager, exhusted but triumphant. The villager looks at you and asks 'Have you been successful?' Egil steps up and says, 'No need to ask IF the Warrior was successful. Just ask for the number of birds dead.' You grin. The villager goggles at you. '250? That's a large number! Would you be able to help on the other side of town? We're having a problem there too. Bigger birds though. They are causing much panic and heartache.' You ask the villager to lead on with all speed. 'Across to the East Edge then Warrior.'

Stage 3 Minimum Level: 1475 Location:Caruftun Village (East Edge) (7, 2) Required Item: None Required Kills: None

You meet with the Villager and Egil on the far side of the crevice. You are about to ask what the birds on this side look like when a huge, black bird swoops out of the sky and snatchs up a nearby dog. You turn to the Villager. You nod, drawing you weapon. 'Are there many of these beasts?' The villager nods. 'Yes, there are many, though the number is less than the Hikata.' You nod again. 'I'll return once dealt with.'

Stage 4 Minimum Level: 1475 Location:Caruftun Village (East Edge) (7, 2) Required Item: None Required Kills: 103 x Great Corvus

You return to Egil and the villager. The villager asks 'Did find.....I mean, how many did you cull?' You grin at the villagers change of phrase while Egil barks out a laugh. The villager brightens up. '103? That's amazing! There's just one other type of bird causing us problems. The Verm Corvus, a gigantic crimson bird. It preys upon the Great Corvus and followed them to the village. Please get rid of them. Luckily, there are relatively few of them.' You nod and head back out to find the Verm Corvus.

Stage 5 Minimum Level: 1475 Location:Caruftun Village (East Edge) (7, 2) Required Item: None Required Kills: 5 x Verm Corvus (Champion)

You return to the Villager and Egil, bloodied and weary. 'They are dead.' The villager claps his hands. 'How many?' 'Excellent my friend. We can pay some coin, though not much. We can provide you a hot meal and a warm bed before you continue your travels.' You grin and thank him. He leads you and Egil to your quarters and over the rest of the evening, you both enjoy the hospitality of the villagers. When you prepare to leave, the Villager asks your intended course. You explain you'll descend into the mountain as Egil knows of an ancient underground pass. The Villager nods. 'Be aware that there is growing darkness in the depths. We know not the cause. Please take care.' You receive 'A Piping Hot Meal' and 13,697,147 XP.
